Representatives of the Siemens Europe Committee meet with union representatives from Gamesa in Bilbao.

The representation of the Siemens-workers in Spain has signed serveral agreements improving and guaranteeing their rights. In less than one month three important agreements have been reached between the representation of the workers and the company in Siemens, S.A., Spain. (scroll down for Spanish version)

The Siemens Workers’ Union (SWU) of India has signed a Wage Settlement with Siemens India Ltd. for the Transformer Unit in Thane. The agreement is considered very special and important in the history of Siemens and Siemens Workers’ Union.

On November 11th, Uday Mahale, General Secretary of India's Siemens Workers Union (SWU) for 28 years, passed away. IndustriAll Global Union called him a "visionary and tireless fighter for the rights of workers" in its letter of condolence. [Update Dec. 1st]

On June 30th/July 1st, union representatives from Siemens from the Czech Republic, Hungary (Budapest), Slovakia (Bratislava) and Germany held their annual meeting at Olomouc in the Czech Republic. It was hosted by the Czech union OS KOVO and supported by the political foundation “Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung” (FES) from Germany.

On July 20th, the employees of SIMEA plant in Vienna protested against the planned closure of the Large Drives production in Vienna and the projected relocation of the jobs to China.

A basis for further dialogue between unions and management has been established: On June 13th/14th, the meeting under the International Framework Agreement (IFA) of Siemens for the US took place at Washington D.C..

On 23 June 2016 the British will vote on whether their country should remain in the EU. After more than 40 years as a member of the EU, there is a lot at stake in this referendum. Unions and the Siemens Europe Committee support the movement to keep Great Britain in the EU.

33 members of the "Siemens Europe Committee" (SEC) from 21 countries held the 21st meeting of the SEC on May 18th and 19th in Berlin.

On February 9th-11th, 48 representatives from US and Canadian unions that are represented at Siemens, came together at Orlando, Florida, for a workshop. [Update: Report from IUE-CWA]
